Tara Turner Photographer and Mixed Media Artist
Tara Turner is a self-taught photographer, digital and mixed media artist who lives in the Similkameen Valley in British Columbia, Canada. Her artworks are inspired by the colors of changing seasons and the magical energy flow of the forest. She spends her free time roaming the mountains and along the banks of the Similkameen River, where she creates artworks created from fallen leaves, driftwood, wildflowers, and river stones.
Her fine art photography captures the beauty of the surrounding environment, whether it be a misty landscape, a moody sky or an old brick wall with a hundred stories to tell. She combines her two favorite genres of photography- landscape and urban. By merging these two mediums she hopes to make a statement about how as people we affect the environment around us. She attempts to evoke emotion by creating a visually appealing, unique, and imaginative piece of work, that ultimately in the end portrays that some things can't only been seen...they must be felt.
